We are looking for a Senior Procurement Officer (Material) for our manufacturing industry client based in Karachi.

Job Specification

Qualifications :

MBA in Supply Chain with 2-5 years of experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities :

• Conscious efforts to purchase material at the most competitive prices.
• Ensure timely availability of material to the factory.
• Improve suppliers’ services and reliability and build new suppliers wherever possible.
• Ensure the quality of products being supplied.
• Coordinate with proponent departments to resolve issues related to Purchase Requests (PRs).
• Follow up on rejected material with the concerned department.
• Outdoor sourcing of material and follow up with suppliers by visiting their premises.
• Implement the company’s purchasing strategy.
• Purchase all imported raw materials based on the production plan.
• Develop new vendors for non-proprietary items.
• Assist the department head in price negotiation with vendors.
• Assist the department head in vendor management and performance monitoring.
• Provide analysis to enable negotiation for the purchase of goods and services.
• Understand the company purchasing policy and ensure 100% compliance.
• Coordinate with finance for timely payment to vendors after invoice submission.
• Manage procurement for stock and consumable items.
• Maintain records in the database and monitor purchase orders.
• Coordinate with the purchase committee for the bidding process.
• Formulate regular status reports and purchase orders.
• Provide business cases and impart short-term technical assistance.
