About the Role
We’re looking for an IT Administrator to manage and support internal IT environment and infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining system availability, ensuring compliance with security and ISO 27001 controls, and providing day-to-day technical support across the business.
You’ll work closely with the Engineering and Product teams to troubleshoot environment issues, manage access controls, and maintain reliable network and endpoint performance.
This is a long-term, hands-on position suited to someone with strong systems knowledge, a methodical approach to problem-solving, and an enthusiasm for continuous improvement in IT operations.
Responsibilities
- System Administration – Administer and support internal IT infrastructure and cloud environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, and Azure AD.
- User Management – Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across on-prem and SaaS systems.
- Technical Support – Provide 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Security & Compliance – Maintain alignment with ISO 27001 and internal security policies, including regular access reviews, backup checks, and endpoint protection.
- Networking – Configure and maintain VPNs, firewalls, and network security tools to ensure connectivity and data protection.
- Documentation – Create and maintain internal IT documentation, process guidelines, and asset inventories.
- Collaboration – Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to troubleshoot internal system issues (e.g., AWS or build pipeline connectivity).
- Device & Onboarding Management – Support onboarding and offboarding activities, including new device setup, configuration, and lifecycle management.
Requirements
3+ years of experience supporting and administering Windows Server environments.3+ years managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint.3+ years of experience with networking and security, including firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protection.Solid understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD, and identity access management principles.Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues across distributed environments.Strong attention to detail, methodical problem-solving, and documentation skills.Familiarity with ISO 27001 compliance and IT security best practices.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support users and collaborate across teams.Nice to Have
1+ year of experience in endpoint management (e.g., Intune, SCCM, or equivalent).Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).Exposure to automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).Prior experience working within SaaS or tech product companies.At Smart Working, you’ll never be just another remote hire.
