Objectives of this Role The Senior Quality Control Engineer will ensure that products are designed, built, and produced in accordance with customer specifications and quality requirements. This position is typically offered full time and reports to QA Lead. Those well-suited to this career enjoy problem‑solving and working collaboratively with others.
Responsibilities
Perform a variety of tests such as smoke, regression, integration, cross‑browser, cross‑platform, responsive testing (PC, mobile, tablet), API testing, and any required tests per the test plan to confirm the stability of software systems.
Report clear bugs and track them using tools like DevOps.
Generate automation scripts and research tools to increase automation.
Collaborate with QC, development, and business groups to complete testing.
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well‑structured test cases, review test cases written by teammates or senior members, and send test results reports after confirming with QA lead.
Build project documentation such as user manuals.
Participate in full life cycle development and perform business requirements review and verification.
Conduct static testing, UAT, performance testing, mentor and train junior quality control engineers, and create tasks for them.
Identify root causes of quality problems, coordinate modifications or corrective actions.
Architect new automated test strategies and frameworks, develop, maintain, and enhance test automation framework and infrastructure, execute and report planned tests, manage defects, and regress software fixes for new and existing products.
Assist development with reproducing and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.
Demonstrate innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills, possessing strong technical and programming / test automation skill set.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
Professional certification such as ISTQB‑CTFL or ISTQB‑CTAL.
Strong problem‑solving skills, allowing identification and resolution of software bugs and errors.
Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Selenium Web Driver, and developing automation scripts.
Knowledge of testing phases and approaches, including functional, regression, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
Programming experience in languages used for writing tests.
Excellent communication skills, ability to work with other groups, coordinate and collaborate.
Ability to multi‑task, triage issues, react well to changes, work independently or in a team setting in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Hands‑on experience with SQL commands.
