Chief Engineer (R&D Projects)

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from an HEC recognized university with minimum of 09 years of post-qualification experience in R&D, with at least 3 years in a project management role. Candidates having experience of Oil and Gas / Public sector shall be preferred.

Responsibilities :

• Lead the planning and execution of R&D projects and new initiatives from concept through completion.
• Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to define project requirements in order to achieve the required objectives.
• Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to meet goals.
• Develop and review project tenders, engineering equipment specifications and service level agreements in collaboration with the team and departmental head.
• Initiate procurement of supplies, services, and after-sale support required for the projects.
• Lead the Design & Analyses team on various projects, ensure that the design meets the requirements.
• Develop and review the NCB and ICB bidding documents in compliance with the PPRA and PEC rules and regulations.
• Finalize the procurement mode, strategy and procurement cycle time in consultation with departmental head and Procurement Department.
• Foster an environment of innovation and continuous improvement within project teams.
• Ensure compliance with project contracts, industry regulations, and standards.
• Report on a regular basis the project status, any challenges being faced, and outcomes to the departmental head.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Develop and maintain project documentation in line with the best practices.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for potential projects.
• Lead the process of identification and development of new technologies and solutions to address business needs.
• As a mentor to develop junior engineers within the project teams.
• Coordinate with the operational department for the implementation of projects.
• Coordinate with external partners and vendors to support project objectives.
• Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing systems and processes.
• Support the development and maintenance of engineering standards and specifications.
• Develop and implement training programs for project management methodologies.
• Develop familiarization with PPRA, PEC, API, PSQCA, ISO, ASME, PPRA, AGA, ANSI standards and rules and regulations.
• Identify and assess risks under their management / ownership.
• Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
• Monitor risks and response strategies under their management.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
• Perform any other task assigned by senior management.
