Engineering graduate from HEC recognized university preferably in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical / Mechatronics with at least 2 years of experience in supervision of Cathodic Protection systems, Coating inspections, and asset integrity inspections.
PEC (Pakistan Engineering Council) registration is mandatory for Engineers.
Candidates with certification of TWI / NACE(AMPP) / API would be preferred.
Responsibilities : JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in Corrosion Control (CC) activities on the pipeline network. The position is also responsible for maintenance of CC systems to ensure the integrity of the pipeline network.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in coordination with relevant government departments / agencies to arrange necessary permissions for carrying out Corrosion Control (CC) jobs.
- Perform rectification and maintenance of installed CC stations in accordance with specified standards.
- Perform coating and wrapping of pipelines to achieve optimum CC operations.
- Participate in field tests including Pipeline Current Mapping (PCM), Close Interval Potential Survey (CIPS), structure potential, Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG), soil resistivity, etc.
- Plan recoating and rectification of pipelines considering test and survey results.
- Assist in survey, design, and data collection.
- Prepare charts and tables and present findings to management.
- Prepare CC designs including anode type, quantity, location, rectifier location, test station locations, and other design features on drawings.
- Assist in installation of sacrificial anode systems for pipeline protection against corrosion and conduct post-installation surveys.
- Implement policies, procedures, and rules regarding corrosion control of assets and undertake required corrosion control work for pipelines and systems.
- Assist in the preparation of survey reports and findings to highlight coating-related deterioration.
- Revalidate pipeline integrity assessments and identify vulnerable sections.
- Plan and coordinate Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) and Fitness for Service (FFS) assessments and propose replacement plans for pressure equipment and pipelines.
- Initiate procurement of necessary materials and equipment promptly.
- Monitor and check the coating status of under-construction and new pipeline projects.
- Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and the company's policies and ethics.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
