The Nutrition and Food Services Department (NFSD) provides a range of products and services to students, faculty, staff as well as patients and their attendants. It comprises of a team of experienced clinical nutritionists, dietitians and foodservice professionals. The services are provided through six sections; clinical nutrition, patient meal services, cafeteria & catering services, food production, food safety management and cost control and approximately 13,000-15,000 meals are served in a day. Responsibilities

You will be responsible to prepare food for hospital patients, employees and events, report food safety and other complaints and issues to the concerned, and manage operations. Specifically, you will be responsible to : ensure food quality, texture and flavor of patient and non-patient meals as per the set standards assist in safe pre-processing, preparation and production of patient and non-patient food in accordance with established menu cycle days prepare patient short orders and breakfast / grill items on order or for staff dining in accordance with menu cycle or advised by cook / supervisor assist, prepare and assemble patient and non-patient food material for next day breakfast and lunch menu from the store as assigned by cook / supervisor cook food and prepare hot entrees, as per the daily menu with standardized recipes or as directed ensure safe usage of equipment and regularly monitor their need for equipment repairs clean and maintain hygiene and sanitation of kitchen areas as per the set standards. Requirements

You should have : Matriculation with at least two years of cooking experience in hospital or food chain industries OR Middle with at least three years of cooking experience in hospital or food chain industries, preferably with certificate or training in cookery from a recognized institution knowledge of menus, recipes and preparation terminologies, and quantity cooking techniques and methods knowledge of principles of food safety and sanitation ability to use kitchen utensils and equipment ability to read and write in Urdu and English languages courteous attitude towards supervisor and colleagues ability to effectively work in teams as well as independently and willingness for shift duties.
