Overview ZapLock is a hardware-tech startup building RFID-enabled smart locker systems to make personal storage secure, convenient, and tech-powered, anytime, anywhere. We began by solving a simple but persistent problem for university students : the hassle of carrying belongings all day. Today, we’re scaling beyond campuses into gyms, coworking spaces, corporate offices, shopping malls, and transit stations across Pakistan.

Currently in the MVP and pilot phase, ZapLock has already gained strong traction through incubation centers, national startup competitions, and early adopters. That’s where you come in. We’re looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a builder’s mindset, someone who wants to be more than an employee and is ready to co-found, build, and scale ZapLock from 0 to 1 and beyond.

Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end development of RFID smart locker hardware.

Responsible for designing and developing embedded systems using microcontrollers and IoT platforms, with integration into electronic locking hardware.

Oversee the development of mobile / web applications for locker access.

Set up a scalable backend system (reservations, logs, access status, etc.).

Ensure data security, scalability, and system reliability.

Work with suppliers / vendors for PCB fabrication, RFID modules, and prototyping.

Explore and implement next-gen solutions (Bluetooth / NFC, smartwatch sync, IoT integrations).

Collaborate with co-founders on strategy, product design, and scaling.

Build and eventually lead a small tech team as we grow.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.

Seeking last-year students and fresh graduates.

Strong hands-on experience with microcontrollers & IoT.

Backend systems (Firebase, Node.js, etc.).

Experience in building IoT / hardware products or working with early-stage startups.

Passionate about rapid prototyping, innovation, and product building.

Comfortable in a fast-paced, resource-constrained startup environment.
