SAP Governance and Compliance

In this role, the individual will collaborate with various stakeholders to manage IT audits, assess compliance risks, and implement necessary controls, particularly in regulated sectors such as healthcare. The position demands excellent communication skills to engage with internal and external parties, strong project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies will facilitate efficient governance processes and adaptation to evolving business needs. Although this role does not manage a team directly, it requires a self‑driven professional who can oversee compliance initiatives independently and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT governance practices within Riphah International University.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, CISA, or CGEIT preferred.

Minimum 3 years of experience in IT governance, compliance, or risk management.

Experience managing IT audits, risks, and compliance in regulated industries (healthcare preferred).

Proven experience implementing and maintaining IT / SAP governance frameworks.

Strong understanding of governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL) and risk management principles.

Solid grasp of SAP ERP modules and change management processes.

Strong analytical, project management, and problem‑solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies and governance tools.

Responsibilities IT Governance and Compliance

Develop, implement, and maintain MIS and SAP governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.

Ensure alignment of MIS and SAP processes with business goals, regulatory standards, and frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 27001.

Monitor adherence to governance policies, data privacy regulations, and cybersecurity standards.

Conduct periodic internal audits and coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with established protocols.

Risk Management

Identify and evaluate IT risks across SAP ERP, datacenter, and related systems.

Develop and implement risk mitigation and control strategies.

Establish and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) to minimize downtime and data loss.

Strategic Alignment

Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure IT and SAP initiatives support organizational and operational objectives.

Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs for governance, risk, and compliance performance.

Promote the adoption of governance frameworks across IT and SAP teams to strengthen accountability and decision‑making.

Technology and Process Oversight

Oversee SAP ERP operations, ensuring effective system governance, change control, and version management.

Monitor datacentre operations for performance, scalability, and security compliance.

Guide governance for software development projects, ensuring adherence to secure coding, Agile / Scrum standards, and documentation.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Partner with IT, SAP, and business teams to identify governance gaps and enhance service delivery.

Deliver governance and compliance awareness sessions for IT and functional users.

Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to ensure contractual and operational compliance.

Continuous Improvement

Identify areas for improvement in governance processes and recommend best practices.

Evaluate emerging governance tools, technologies, and methodologies.

Stay updated with industry trends and evolving compliance standards to enhance IT governance maturity.
