Station Manager

The duty of the station manager can include :

• Hiring and firing staff
• Purchasing and accounting
• Staff supervision

The position is involved directly with increasing revenue and problem solving at the station. Communication skills are needed to delegate duties to the station staff, as well as to work with outside organizations and agencies.

The station manager may also need to evaluate projects and possess specific knowledge related to the content of programming.

The station manager ensures that the station remains in compliance with authority’s regulations, creates internal protocols for station employees, and analyzes literature to develop on-air content.
