Overview
The Planning Engineer - Electrical is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining project schedules for electrical engineering projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Planning Engineer will utilize project management tools and techniques to create realistic schedules, identify potential risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive project schedules that include all phases of electrical and engineering projects. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather project requirements and constraints. Ensure that project schedules are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Utilize project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) to create and maintain detailed project schedules. Monitor and update project schedules regularly to reflect changes in scope, resources, and timelines. Work closely with project teams to allocate resources efficiently and effectively. Optimize resource utilization to meet project deadlines. Identify potential risks and challenges that may impact project timelines. Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Collaborate with project teams to proactively address and resolve issues. Facilitate regular project meetings to discuss updates, challenges, and action plans. Provide clear and concise reports on project status. Ensure that project schedules align with quality standards and industry best practices. Implement quality control measures to verify the accuracy of project schedules. Evaluate and analyze project performance to identify areas for improvement. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project planning and execution. Qualifications / Required Experience
Relevant experience in electrical planning roles. Must have experience with Primavera 6. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Experience in managing procurement, invoice, and resource planning aspects of projects. Skills
