About the job : Principal Data and Analytics Engineer
We are hiring a Principal Data & Analytics Engineer (Karachi onsite). This is our most senior technical role, responsible for designing and delivering scalable, high-quality data and reporting solutions across all client projects.
You will work directly on solutions, taking ownership of design, development, and deployment. The role combines technical depth with the ability to shape how we deliver as a team. You will be involved from initial requirements through to final reporting outputs, ensuring that our solutions are technically sound, efficient, and aligned with client needs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI, along with a practical understanding of how data solutions support real business reporting and decision-making. You will also help establish and promote best practices, mentor others, and ensure our work is robust and repeatable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimise end-to-end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.
- Create and manage high-quality, production-ready datasets that integrate with Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Translate business requirements into technical designs and deliver working, scalable solutions.
- Collaborate closely with BI developers, reporting consultants, and project managers to ensure data models are aligned with reporting needs.
- Define and implement best practices for data engineering, analytics modelling, and governance.
- Provide technical leadership through example, helping to solve complex challenges while staying hands-on with coding and delivery.
- Take ownership of existing client solutions and develop them into reliable, productionised outputs.
- Review and improve our data infrastructure to ensure efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Keep up to date with new features and capabilities within Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Power BI, recommending improvements where valuable.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics-focused roles.Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including semantic models, workspace management, and performance tuning.Advanced SQL and Python skills.Strong understanding of data architecture design, including lakehouse and medallion patterns.Experience delivering and maintaining production-grade pipelines and reporting datasets.Practical experience working across both data and reporting layers.Strong problem-solving ability and comfort working in a hands-on technical environment.Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders.Nice to have
