Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Software Consultant – MuleSoft who will lead the design, development, and delivery of complex integration solutions for enterprise clients. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of overall technical experience with deep expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, system integration patterns, and enterprise architecture. This role requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to guide customers through end-to-end integration strategies.

Responsibilities

Advanced knowledge of configuration / customization of the platform.

Ability to propose and devise solutions with little to no code.

Assisting the Architect and coordinating technical aspect of software development activities including design, architecture, development and implementation of applications.

Identify and implement opportunities for development process improvement like evaluating and adopting new technologies and platforms, best practices and patterns, creating reusable components & frameworks, etc.

Provide strategic platform consulting, shaping long-term infrastructure plans that align with clients’ business objectives.

Act as focal point of contact for technical issues for specific work streams across multiple projects.

Ensure project delivery on time along with adherence to code and quality standards.

Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Knowledge of platform marketplace products, their development lifecycle and best practices.

Lead platform transformation initiatives, ensuring scalability and security for enterprise clients.

Act as a trusted advisor to executives, influencing infrastructure strategies at a strategic level.

Awareness of all available editions of the platform and their pricing model.

Leverage AI features of the platform to improve productivity of developers and users.

Awareness on various backup strategies to mitigate risk.

Leverage version control and CI / CD features to ensure smooth deployments.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor's or master's in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

Experience : 6-8+ years in software engineering or integration, with at least 3-4 years specifically in MuleSoft.

Proficient in MuleSoft Anypoint Studio and Anypoint Platform.

Strong knowledge of API design, RAML / OAS, and API lifecycle management.

Expertise in integration patterns, microservices architecture, and data transformation using DataWeave.

Proficient in error handling and logging frameworks.

Experience with installing, configuring, and managing Anypoint Platform PCE, including understanding its components like Access Management, API Manager, and Runtime Manager.

Familiarity with Kubernetes, especially in the context of Red Hat OpenShift, Amazon EKS Anywhere, and Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RKE2).

Understanding of Kubernetes cluster requirements and configurations, including worker node setups, load balancer configurations, and storage requirements.

Proficient in using MuleSoft Object Store for data storage and state management across Mule applications.

Experience with Object Store v2, including configuration and management for CloudHub applications.

Understanding the best practices for data persistence, retrieval, and management using Object Store, ensuring efficient data handling and performance.

Familiarity with security practices related to Object Store, including encryption and access control to safeguard sensitive data.

Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing Object Store usage to enhance application performance and reliability.

Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hybrid integration solutions.
