Lead Developer - WordPress We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Developer to join us. Success in this role requires deep knowledge and experience of developing WordPress plugins. You will have the option to choose your own hours from 32 up to 40 per week, work remotely from anywhere, and have at least 4 hours of overlap with UK working hours per day.
What you’ll be doing
Work in PHP, JavaScript and WordPress libraries to write clean, efficient and secure code
Line‑manage the plugin development team
Ensure tasks are appropriately assigned, reviewed, and completed by the team
Maintain high technical standards in the code base
Utilise the lead architect's knowledge to achieve the best direction for the plugin
Identify priorities, resolve blockers
Act as the key point of contact for technical queries related to the plugin
Liaise with QA and Product Managers to align development work with wider business goals
Your exact responsibilities will depend on your experience and how this fits with other members of the team, and are subject to discussion and agreement.
Requirements You'll definitely need experience with :
PHP—experience developing WordPress plugins
JavaScript—important, though a smaller part of the role
Managing other developers
Working with key stakeholders
It would be nice if you have experience with :
GitHub / GitLab / Git – nice to have, can be learned quickly by good developers used to alternatives like SVN.
