Lead Developer (Part-Time)

Job Overview

As the Lead Developer, you will play a critical role in leading the development team, overseeing the architecture, and ensuring the successful migration from Node.js (Express) to Fastify v2. You will also guide the front-end development using React and TypeScript, and manage the database operations on MySQL hosted on AWS RDS. Your expertise will be pivotal in shaping the technical direction of our projects and ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. You will mentor a team of engineers, drive best practices in software development, and ensure the highest levels of technical quality, security, scalability, and stability across all projects. This includes proactively addressing bug fixes, swiftly resolving any issues that arise, and ensuring the continuous stability and performance of the current system throughout the migration process. You will be expected to manage and optimize the CI / CD pipelines, automate deployments, and handle infrastructure on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
• Oversee the design and architecture of the system, ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and performance.
• Lead the migration from Node.js (Express) to Fastify v2, ensuring minimal disruption and improved performance.
• Guide the development of our React front end using TypeScript, ensuring a seamless and responsive user experience.
• Oversee the database operations on MySQL (RDS), ensuring efficient and secure data management.
• Lead the integration and management of third-party APIs, including MailerSend, HubSpot, and Workable, ensuring seamless communication and data flow between systems.
• Manage CI / CD pipelines, automate deployments, and handle AWS infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient operations without a dedicated DevOps team.
• Ensure high standards of code quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
• Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Ensure the existing web application remains stable and functional during the migration, addressing any bug fixes, performance issues, or other critical problems as they arise.
