Remote Role Description : We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Research Assistant to support a research project focused on The Data and Research in Education. The project aims to develop a rigorous body of timely and accessible evidence on the key issues within education service delivery in Pakistan. These issues include the following : improving teaching quality; reaching out to marginalised girls and boys, such as those with disabilities and from minorities, and getting them into school, studying for a longer duration, and learning better; building resilience in education service delivery for responsiveness to climate change and any other disruptive events; increasing accountability in the system; and supporting successful pilots to scale up. We’re seeking an individual who is keen to develop applied research and evaluation skills in topics including child development, maternal health and education service delivery. Job Description and Requirements
A Research Assistant will : Skills and Qualifications : Undertake background research, including review of literature on key topics within the research program areas and produce write ups Undertake analysis on secondary data sources and produce write ups. Assist the PIs and Program Managers in developing and piloting instruments, and undertaking fieldwork Assist the PIs and Program Managers in conducting field work, coordination and managing the data collection process Write policy briefs, reports, notes, summaries, abstracts and blogs as required by senior research fellows; Responsible for the overall logistics of any seminars, workshops and conferences organized by the research program; Organize, update and maintain project documents for the team and senior research fellows; Offer research and / or administrative support to other research programs as required. Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, or any related discipline. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Excellent writing skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and reliability. Willingness to do fieldwork and travel as required. Preferred Candidate having 1- 2 years of experience handling qualitative & quantitative data Ability to represent data in useful and creative ways knowledge of NVivo preferred Additional local language skills e.g. Punjabi. Sindhi. Sirayki. Use of Urdu keyboard. Any submissions outside the application guidelines will not be considered.
