Role Overview The Studio Head is responsible for the complete leadership and management of Construct®’s design studio. This role combines strategic design oversight, operational governance, team leadership, and client-facing representation.
You will ensure that :
The studio delivers exceptional design work
Documentation is coordinated and compliant
All deliverables meet Construct®’s speed and quality benchmarks
Every design-to-site handover is frictionless
This is not an administrative role — it is a high-impact leadership position establishing Construct®’s design culture, operational backbone, and end-to-end design excellence.
Key Responsibilities 1. Studio Leadership & Creative Direction
Lead the design studio as a high-performance, outcomes-driven unit
Set the creative direction, quality benchmarks, and review rhythms for all projects
Maintain design integrity aligned with client vision, brand identity, and Construct®’s design philosophy
2. Operational Governance & Performance Management
Build and enforce processes, standards, and workflows that ensure consistency, accuracy, and speed
Develop and maintain robust systems for :
Documentation control
Versioning
Drawing approval flows
Multidisciplinary coordination
Ensure the studio operates with zero ambiguity and maximum accountability
3. Project Oversight & Delivery Management
Oversee all active design projects from concept through IFC issuance
Ensure design deliverables meet compliance, services coordination, and statutory requirements
Serve as escalation authority for resolving conflicts in drawings, services, BOQs, and site clarifications
4. Cross-Functional Integration
Coordinate seamlessly with construction, procurement, and project management teams
Enable real-time information flow to ensure design-to-execution handovers are clear, complete, and timely
Anticipate issues before they reach site and enforce preventive design solutions
5. Stakeholder & Client Engagement
Represent the studio in all key client and consultant meetings
Maintain a high-trust, solution-focused communication standard
Ensure the studio responds to client needs with speed, clarity, and professionalism
6. Leadership Development & Team Growth
Build a studio culture centered around ownership, learning, and disciplined creativity
Mentor designers, managers, and coordinators to build a strong internal leadership pipeline
Lead recruitment and upskilling to strengthen studio capability
7. Executive Visibility & Reporting
Maintain a consolidated dashboard for all design projects, milestones, risks, and resource allocation
Provide principals with clear, actionable intelligence on studio workload and delivery performance
8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Identify gaps in tools, process, technology, and skillsets
Lead initiatives for :
Design system optimization
Workflows automation
Quality enhancement
Faster, smarter delivery practices
Benchmark Construct® against global design-build best practices
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; Master’s degree preferred
7–12 years of experience in architecture, design management, or studio leadership
Strong command of design documentation, services coordination, and regulatory compliance
Proven ability to build, scale, and manage high-performance design teams
Experience creating governance systems, workflows, dashboards, and operational structures
Excellent communication, leadership presence, and client-facing skills
Highly organized, analytical, and solutions-oriented; thrives in a fast-paced delivery environment
Proficiency in project management and design software; dashboard / reporting experience is a plus
