Praxsys Associates is a leading impact consulting and advisory firm based in Islamabad. Our mission is to deliver actionable insights, practical advice, and technical support that drive sustainable development impact at scale. The Senior Associate – Research and Evaluation will lead and support the design, implementation, and delivery of research and evaluation assignments, manage the firm’s technical proposal development processes, and coordinate project teams to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables for clients. Responsibilities
Research and Evaluation : Design research frameworks, methodologies, and evaluation approaches (quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods); conduct literature reviews, desk studies, and secondary data analysis; lead and supervise data collection processes with attention to quality and ethics; analyze data using appropriate tools (e.g., Stata, R, NVivo, Excel); draft and finalize evaluation reports, policy briefs, and learning products; facilitate stakeholder validation workshops and learning sessions. Proposal Management and Business Development : Lead and coordinate proposal development processes, draft technical sections including research methodologies and evaluation frameworks; collaborate with subject matter experts and partners to develop high-quality proposals; manage proposal reviews for clarity and donor / client requirements; maintain proposal resources (CVs, firm profiles, past performance references, templates); identify and share relevant business opportunities with the team. Project Coordination and Quality Assurance : Coordinate with team members across client projects to monitor progress and ensure timely delivery; review draft deliverables for completeness, coherence, and quality; ensure deliverables meet client expectations, firm standards, and contractual requirements; act as a quality control checkpoint between junior team members and senior leadership; flag risks or delays early and propose mitigation strategies. Client and Stakeholder Engagement : Serve as a liaison between the firm and clients for assigned projects; present findings and recommendations in client meetings and workshops; support relationship-building with existing and prospective clients. Internal Capacity and Team Contributions : Mentor and supervise junior associates, analysts, and interns; contribute to internal learning sessions and knowledge management; support continuous improvement of firm methodologies, tools, and processes. Deliverables
Research and evaluation reports, briefs, and presentations of high quality within agreed timelines. At least (X number) of competitive proposals developed and submitted annually. Project deliverables reviewed and submitted on time with documented QA checks. Knowledge products (e.g., case studies, toolkits) for internal and client use. Capacity-building support for junior staff documented and delivered. Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in economics, social sciences, international development, or related field. 4–6 years of relevant professional experience in research, monitoring & evaluation with NGOs or consultancy settings, particularly in research, monitoring, and evaluation roles. Demonstrated experience in managing research and evaluation projects for donor-funded organizations, international NGOs, governments, or private sector clients. Proven track record of contributing to or managing successful proposal submissions. Proven experience in primary research design, literature reviews, and implementing research projects. Experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and reviewing outputs. Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to synthesize evidence into practical recommendations. Proficiency in statistical and / or qualitative analysis software. Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Reporting and Supervision
The Senior Associate reports to the Manager / Principal Consultant – Research and Evaluation and works closely with other consultants and project teams. Duration
Full-time, one-year renewable contract with a probation period of 3 months. The position may require occasional travel for fieldwork and client engagements. Application Process
