Overview

Riphah International University is seeking a dedicated Junior Lecturer-Rips to join the academic team. This position focuses on delivering practical instruction in the prescribed subject area while maintaining a well-organized and efficient laboratory environment. The Junior Lecturer plans and conducts practical sessions that align with the curriculum, ensuring students receive hands-on experience that complements theoretical learning. The role requires strong skills in curriculum development, classroom management, effective communication, and student assessment to foster an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere. The Junior Lecturer also manages laboratory resources, including equipment, chemicals, and materials, to ensure smooth practical operations. Coordinating with faculty on syllabus and practical content is crucial to maintain cohesion between theory and practice. While this role does not include managing a team, the Junior Lecturer will assign duties and collaborate with laboratory technicians and assistants to uphold safety, maintenance, and inventory control. Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential in documenting attendance, repair requests, and inventory to support efficient lab management.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and conduct practical sessions in the relevant subject area according to the prescribed curriculum.

Ensure the laboratory operates following current Good Laboratory Practices (cG.L.P) to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

Prepare and maintain all necessary equipment and chemicals required for practical classes, ensuring their availability and proper functioning.

Coordinate with subject teachers to align practical work with the syllabus and ensure timely completion of course requirements.

Record and monitor students practical attendance on the Course Management System (CMS) accurately.

Generate requisitions for glassware, equipment, and chemicals needed for laboratory practicals to maintain adequate inventory levels.

Submit repair and maintenance requests promptly for any malfunctioning machinery or instruments to the maintenance department.

Assign and oversee duties of Laboratory Technicians and Assistants to support practical sessions and laboratory upkeep.

Maintain comprehensive records related to inventory, equipment breakage, store demand slips, repair and maintenance activities, calibration, and amendments.

Foster an effective and interactive classroom atmosphere, encouraging student engagement and learning during practical sessions.

Assess student performance during practical sessions and provide timely feedback to support educational development.

Communicate effectively with students and faculty to address questions, clarify concepts, and resolve issues concerning practical coursework.
