Job Description
The Network Admin Engineer / Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the continuous and efficient operation of the company's global IT infrastructure, focusing on network systems. Responsibilities include proactive monitoring, incident response, and troubleshooting of network devices, servers, applications, and security systems. The role requires working in a 24 / 7 environment, collaborating with IT teams and business units to ensure high availability and performance of mission-critical systems across different locations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitoring and Surveillance :
Monitor network performance, health systems, and security events using various tools.
Identify and alert potential issues, anomalies, and service degradations across WAN, LAN, WLAN, and connectivity points.Monitor critical applications, communication links, and infrastructure.Serve as the first contact for network-related incidents reported by users or detected by monitoring systems.Perform initial diagnosis and troubleshooting of network, server, and application issues.Escalate incidents to Level 2 / 3 support teams following escalation procedures.Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting steps accurately in the IT ticketing system.Participate in root cause analysis for recurring incidents.System Administration & Maintenance (First-Line) :Support, configure, maintain, and upgrade company networks.
Install and integrate new hardware and applications into the network.Monitor for updates and upgrades.Support third-party applications and ensure network security and connectivity.Monitor network performance and test for vulnerabilities.Resolve end-user problems.Define policies and procedures, specify requirements, and design solutions.Research server administration and perform routine system checks.Execute configuration changes and reboots as per procedures.Assist with patching and upgrades, monitoring their impact.Security Operations (First-Line) :Monitor security alerts and perform initial investigations.
Escalate threats to the Cybersecurity team.Follow security policies and procedures.Communication & Reporting :Communicate incident statuses and outages to stakeholders.
Generate performance and incident reports.Maintain documentation and knowledge bases.Work in a 24 / 7 shift rotation, ensuring smooth handovers.Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex issues and implement solutions.Participate in training to enhance skills.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or related fields.Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco, FortiGate, Azure) are highly desirable.Experience :
2-4 years in a NOC or similar IT operations role, preferably in large enterprises.Experience with network monitoring tools.Required Skills :
Strong understanding of networking (TCP / IP, VLANs, routing protocols).Familiarity with Cisco IOS, FortiGate, and other network OS.Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud migration.Knowledge of virtualization and cybersecurity principles.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.#J-18808-Ljbffr
