We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented UK Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UK tax regulations and accounting standards, with a proven track record of working with UK-based clients. This role requires expertise in industry-standard accounting software and a solid background in bookkeeping, particularly within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities : Prepare and file UK personal and corporate tax returns (including VAT, PAYE, CIS, and Corporation Tax).
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in compliance with UK tax legislation.
Manage bookkeeping tasks, with a specific focus on the construction sector (including CIS compliance).
Liaise directly with UK clients, providing tax planning, advisory, and compliance support.
Reconcile bank accounts, process invoices, and maintain general ledgers.
Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
Support clients during HMRC audits and respond to HMRC inquiries when needed.
Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and reports.
Requirements : ACCA Affiliate or equivalent professional qualification.
Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in UK tax accounting and client management.
Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Excel.
In-depth knowledge of UK tax regulations and the construction industry's bookkeeping requirements, including CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships.
Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred : Experience working in an accounting firm or serving multiple UK-based clients.
Knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance.
