As Manager Litigation, you will play a pivotal role within the Governance, Legal & Compliance (GLC) function at Telenor Pakistan (TP). You will be responsible for management of nationwide litigation and providing strategic legal advice to safeguard the company\'s interests and uphold robust governance standards. The role requires close collaboration with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support informed, compliant and business-aligned decision-making. Your impactful goals

Management of nationwide litigation on all forums up to superior courts of Pakistan. Provide timely advice, conduct negotiations, render detailed opinions on all corporate legal / commercial / contractual and compliance issues / disputes. Conduct legal research, analysis, trial preparation. Evaluate all issues to adequately protect company interests and complete assigned tasks producing professional results while adhering to strict deadlines. Ensuring company-wide compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Coordination and engagement with external regulators and authorities to effectively manage legal and regulatory proceedings. Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and providing timely advice on their impact on the Company\'s operational matters. Strengthen internal litigation processes by streamlining workflows, case tracking, legal budgeting, and performance measurement of internal and external counsel. Lead internal legal awareness initiatives to build capacity across departments on legal obligations, litigation exposure and regulatory compliance. Support crisis management and reputational risk mitigation by advising on high-stakes litigation, media-sensitive cases and enforcement actions. Regularly benchmark legal practices against industry best standards to continuously improve the company\'s litigation. Your typical day at work

Manage the Company\'s complete litigation portfolio, including tax, customs, commercial, labor, civil, criminal, competition and regulatory matters. Draft, review and finalize legal documents such as plaints, petitions, replies, written statements, in compliance with legal standards and internal policies. Represent the Company before judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative forums including Civil Courts, High Courts, Supreme Courts, Consumer Courts, NIRC, Labour Courts, Tax Tribunals, Customs Tribunals, EPA and TMAs. Oversee legal disputes arising from BTS site agreements, franchise arrangements, service & supply contracts, tenancy issue, regional operations and financial and tax issues. Respond to pre-litigation notices and legal queries from internal & external stakeholders and regulatory bodies in a timely and strategic manner. Legal engagements with regulators such as PTA, CCP, MoITT, USFCo., SBP, FBR, NCCIA, FIA, NAB, NEPRA, EPA and others on investigations, hearings, and compliance matters. Develop and implement defense strategies for show-cause notices, regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions. Collaborate with external counsel and internal stakeholders to ensure effective handling of all legal and regulatory proceedings. Provide strategic legal advice to senior leadership and cross-functional teams on litigation risk, regulatory exposure and business operations. Identify, assess and mitigate legal risks related to business activities and strategic initiatives. Formulate litigation strategies aligned with the company\'s legal risk appetite and business objectives. Prepare legal risk reports, case summaries and litigation updates. Develop and maintain internal legal policies, SOPs, and compliance mechanisms in line with applicable laws and regulatory frameworks. Conduct legal research and provide practical, solution-oriented guidance on complex legal matters. Evaluate and manage external legal counsel to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of service. Review and advise on disciplinary actions, show-cause notices and grievance matters involving legal implications. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of litigation dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools. Conduct field visits to courts and legal forums to monitor case progress and ensure panel lawyer performance. Provide legal guidance and support to regional teams in implementing and complying with court orders. Execute any other responsibilities assigned by the Head GLC / Head of Litigation. Education : Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD), from a recognized institution. Master\'s degree in Law (LLM), Bar-at-Law and other related diploma / certification will be added advantage. Functional Skills / Work experience

Minimum 7 years of post-qualification experience in litigation. Experience within the telecommunications sector or other highly regulated industries will be considered an advantage. Proven track record in advising on legal, regulatory, tax and custom related matters and ensuring compliance with applicable legal, competition and regulatory frameworks. Knowledge Areas

Strong command of local and international corporate and commercial laws, with specific expertise in civil, regulatory, tax, customs and labor laws of Pakistan. Excellent legal research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with creative decision-making capabilities. Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and ethical standards. Good business acumen with the ability to align legal advice to commercial objectives.
