System Engineer

Job Description

GCS (Microsoft Midmarket Solution provider, Managed Service Provider) is looking for a self-driven System Engineer to join our team.

Provide remote support to users, including staff and clients in the USA, and troubleshoot any problems that arise.

The selected candidates will work in full coordination with technical staff such as Sr. System Administrators, Chief System Architects, and other team members.

Shift : 8 AM - 5 PM CDT

Job Responsibilities :

• Manage IT physical and virtual infrastructure for all clients.
• Manage, maintain, and optimize hardware performance by upgrading servers, increasing RAM, hard drives, and network cards.
• Manage the internal network within the virtual environment.
• Implement security patches on all servers and appliances.
• Manage endpoint security by keeping EDRs, AVs, and patch management up to date for all clients.
• Collaborate with other teams such as network, cloud, and helpdesk to optimize client infrastructure.
• Manage storage area networks for clients, where applicable.
• Manage and resolve operating system-related issues.
• Maintain access rights and file server security.
• Manage complex domain environments, including domain controllers, ADS, RODCs, Azure AD, Active Directory in multi-site, on-premises, and cloud environments.
• Serve as a technical expert in system administration for complex operating systems.
• Install and configure new software and hardware, including servers, network devices, and firewalls.
• Monitor system performance, operations, and storage utilization.
• Plan hardware or software upgrades to support system growth.
• Manage user accounts, assets, and security permissions according to security policies.
• Gather client requirements, assess, and design system architecture / solutions as per needs.
• Design, implement, and maintain virtual infrastructures such as Hyper-V and VMware.
• Implement disaster recovery, fault tolerance, and fallback solutions for virtual environments.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and upgrades.
• Plan for capacity, storage, and database performance.
• Update / upgrade servers and equipment with patches and firmware timely.
• Implement security measures and policies using server / domain security protocols.
• Research and recommend new approaches to improve the system environment and devices.
