Role The Python-ETL Data Developer reports to Richard Christy as part of the team to build out our Snowflake offering as well as assist the data team with onboarding new client data within the Sky Road platform. The Sky Road platform provides trade processing, portfolio management, portfolio optimization, compliance, and credit management functions for alternative asset managers. Working under Rich’s guidance, this role will be focused on helping to onboard new client data into our MySQL application database in addition to designing, building, and supporting our new Snowflake offering. Python / ETL and Database skills, good communication and teamwork skills, and motivation to learn new skills are key to this role.

Key Responsibilities

Assis the data team with our ETL Framework written in Python as we ramp up the onboarding of new clients and decrease the turn-around time required to load new client data into the Sky Road platform MySQL database.

Work with the data team to help design, implement and support our new Snowflake offering.

Assist in timely resolution of incidents and supporting day-to-day operations when issues occur in production.

Help to improve and maintain documentation for internal team members.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

Python 3.x experience, at least 5 years

Experience with Python packages : Pandas, Numpy, botos, and sqlalchemy

Experience with Relational / NoSQL Databases, at least 5 years

Desired Qualifications

Experience with Python packages : Scikit-Learn, Scipy, Matplotlib and PyTorch

Experience with server-side API frameworks such as REST

Committed to maintaining a clean, readable, and consistent codebase by making thoughtful and well-integrated contributions and participating in GIT pull-requests / code reviews

Financial Data Domain expertise. Experience with core financial data domains including trades, positions, issuers, instruments, industries, ratings, and pricing.

Experience with data reconciliation methods and techniques.

The salary range estimate for this position is

$110,000 - $150,000 .

The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
