Overview
The IT Governance Specialist is responsible for establishing and implementing IT governance frameworks, policies, and processes that align IT operations with the organization's business objectives. The role ensures compliance, mitigates risks and drives continuous improvement across the organization's IT environment, which includes a data center, SAP ERP, software development, and a Hospital Management System (HMS). Responsibilities
IT Governance and Compliance : Develop, implement, and maintain IT governance frameworks and policies. Ensure IT processes are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices such as COBIT, ITIL, and ISO 27001. Monitor compliance with IT governance policies and standards, including data privacy laws and cybersecurity regulations. Conduct periodic IT audits and collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure adherence to IT governance protocols. Risk Management : Identify, evaluate, and manage IT risks associated with the data center, SAP ERP, custom software development, and the HMS. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and resilience. Establish a disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plan (BCP) to minimize downtime and data loss. Strategic IT Alignment : Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure IT initiatives are aligned with organizational goals, including operational efficiency and patient care objectives. Define and monitor KPIs and SLAs to measure IT effectiveness and performance. Promote the adoption of governance frameworks across the IT department to enhance decision-making and accountability. Technology and Process Oversight : Oversee IT operations in the data center, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. Monitor the implementation and usage of SAP ERP modules and ensure governance in system customization and updates. Guide the governance of custom software development projects, ensuring adherence to Agile / Scrum practices and secure coding standards. Ensure the effective management and governance of the Hospital Management System (HMS), ensuring patient data confidentiality, data integrity, and compliance. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Work with IT and business leaders to identify governance needs and improve IT service delivery. Provide governance-related training and awareness to IT and non-IT staff. Act as the key liaison between the IT department and external vendors or service providers. Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance IT governance processes and recommend best practices. Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance governance and compliance initiatives. Monitor trends in IT governance and recommend strategies for modernization and improvement. Qualifications / Required Skills
Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Certifications such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO 27001, CISA, or CGEIT are highly preferred. Five plus years of experience in IT governance, IT compliance, or a related role. Experience in managing IT risks, audits, and compliance in regulated industries, preferably in healthcare. Proven track record in developing and implementing IT governance frameworks. In-depth knowledge of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL), risk management methodologies and strong project management and analytical skills. Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies for software development. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
