Overview

As an Accounting Officer, you will be a vital part of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate, auditable financial records through careful data entry, document management, and support for various accounting tasks. This position primarily focuses on maintaining auditable records, performing data entry, and assisting the line manager with various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, proficient in accounting software, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The role demands attention to detail, effective communication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest financial standards.

Responsibilities

  • Scan all vouchers, invoices, receipts, and financial documents into the digital system, maintaining accurate and organized financial records in compliance with auditable standards.
  • Assist the line manager with reviewing invoices, preparing reports, and handling ad-hoc requests to support departmental goals.
  • Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions, expenses, and other accounting information into accounting software.
  • Assist the line manager with various accounting tasks, such as different accounting reconciliations, updating schedules, maintaining fixed asset register, etc.
  • Implement and maintain a filing system for hard-copy and digital documents that meet strict internal and external auditable standards.
  • Support in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Regularly reconcile the physical documents with system entries to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline scanning, data entry, and record-keeping processes.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance (e.g. MBA Finance, M.COM, ACCA Fresher, etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit support roles, with hands-on experience in data entry, document management, and reconciliations.
  • Proven experience in accounting, finance operations, or audit support roles.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable / receivable, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial ERP systems.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
