Introduction

Aga Khan University's (AKU) Department of Community Health Sciences (CHS) is a preeminent public health institution in the country. CHS has five major sections – Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Health Policy & Management, Population & Reproductive Health, Environmental-Occupational and Climate Change (EOHCC), and Non-Communicable Diseases & Mental Health.

The Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Senior Manager, Department of Community Health Sciences.

You will be responsible to :

  • establish and lead integrated program operations function
  • translate workplans into operational calendars and trackers
  • lead regular operations meetings to track bottlenecks
  • maintain central operational tracker
  • oversee administrative systems and approvals routing
  • maintain compliance records aligned with AKU and donor policies
  • ensure document version control and standardized templates
  • maintain donor compliance documentation
  • coordinate inputs for reporting timelines
  • maintain audit-ready grants file
  • flag compliance risks and propose mitigation
  • support recruitment coordination and onboarding logistics
  • supervise admin / logistics staff
  • maintain field deployment plans
  • maintain meeting notes and action trackers
  • provide weekly operational updates
  • support preparation of operational briefs
  • lead procurement planning and timely initiation
  • coordinate vendor sourcing and documentation
  • support contracting processes
  • monitor vendor performance and maintain log
  • plan and coordinate travel, accommodation, and itineraries
  • manage field visit logistics and readiness checklists
  • coordinate shipment and tracking of materials
  • coordinate burn rate tracking and forecasting
  • ensure timely submission of invoices and settlements
  • track expenditures against planned activities
  • coordinate meetings, workshops, and trainings
  • maintain event documentation packs
  • archive complete event documentation

Requirements : You should have :

  • master’s degree in public administration, Project Management, Business Administration, Public Health Management, or related field
  • project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent will be preferred)
  • 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience supporting large donor-funded programs or health system strengthening initiatives
  • minimum 3 years in an operations or administration leadership role with multi-stakeholder coordination exposure
  • demonstrated experience supporting procurement, logistics, and grants compliance documentation
  • experience working with government counterparts and field teams strongly preferred
  • strong program operations leadership and execution discipline
  • strong planning, tracking, and follow-up capability with attention to detail
  • working knowledge of procurement, logistics, contracting coordination, and administrative controls
  • ability to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines without loss of quality
  • strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • proficiency in MS Office; strong Excel skills; familiarity with project tracking tools
  • high integrity and strong compliance orientation
  • willingness to travel regularly to project locations.
