Job description

Introduction

The Department of Anaesthesia at the Aga Khan University Hospital provides perioperative care and other operating room facilities for all surgical procedures, intensive care to critically ill surgical patients in the surgical intensive care unit, as well as acute and chronic pain management services. Our department has a mix of anesthesiologists, qualified nurses, and highly trained surgical and anesthesia technicians. Responsibilities :

The core responsibilities include :

  • cashiers are required to be clean, well-groomed and always observe uniform code for the job.
  • schedule appointments of post-operative patients with the doctors using Outpatient Management System.
  • answer phone calls promptly and courteously and provide the required information to callers.
  • ensure timely availability of medical record files for all scheduled patients for surgery in SDC OR / main OR Coordinate with HIMS for files that are not received
  • receive confidential medical record files timely from HIMS department for all new registration
  • receive cash from patients registered in SDC suite for surgery as per estimate given to patient and give clearance at the time of discharge from SDC suite.
  • cashier is required to open the badge at the beginning of their shift and close the badge of cash at the end of his or her shift.
  • participate in QI / QC projects as assigned by the head nurse.
  • coordinate with nursing staff for addressing day to day SDC suite problems under the supervision of SDC suite HN to facilitate patient care.
  • contribute to achieving positive indicator score in patients’ satisfaction related aspects by being polite, helpful, efficient with a focus on CARR (Communication, Attitude, Respect & Caring and Responsiveness) behaviours.
  • handle / resolve patient queries and problems to ensure smooth functioning of the SDC suite and keep customers satisfied with the services provided to them.
  • meet with the SDC suite HN on a regular basis to report SDC suite related problems and to seek his / her advice to address them.
  • proficient in handling IT / online systems pertaining to job responsibilities.
  • maintains predetermined levels of stationery and replenish stock as required.
  • provides appropriate direction to patients and visitors while answering their queries.
  • any other assignment given by the supervisor / department head.
  • must be regular and punctual >

Requirements : You should have :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent
  • at least one year of relevant experience from a reputed organization
  • proficiency in the use of computers and workflow systems
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • willingness to work in shift duties.
