Tax has six sub-service lines : Business Tax Services, Global Compliance and Reporting, Global Law, Indirect Tax, International Tax and Transaction Services, and People Advisory Services. The opportunity focuses on delivering efficient and effective resources to companies in the region through a market-leading approach that combines standard processes, effective tools, and a network of local tax and accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team providing high-quality tax services to clients across industries as part of a MENA team; manage service delivery, coordination, issue resolution, and contract management of large-scale projects; coordinate EY teams in the region.
- Support client engagements by coordinating with clients and internal team members, managing deadlines, and tracking engagement economics.
- Assist clients in financial digital processes (e.g. preparation and interpretation of year-end closings, audit assistance, financial statements, etc.), tax compliance (corporate tax returns and VAT returns, etc.), general accounting, credit control and internal optimization projects.
- Prepare management reports, budgeting, analytical bookkeeping, financial health and competitors’ analysis, and monitor day-to-day engagement progress and deliverables.
- Establish standardized processes, identify risks, and drive performance-improvement solutions; escalate issues as appropriate.
- Create, lead and motivate high-performing teams, coach junior team members, manage engagement economics, and communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates-to-complete to partners and clients.
- Ensure adherence to Tax Quality guidelines and maintain quality controls across engagements.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree with strong academic credentials in accounting, business, finance, taxation or related fields.MBA, Master’s or related advanced degree and / or professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent).Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within a large professional services firm or similar environment.Extensive knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards, relevant tax rules, procedures and guidelines.Practical experience with regulatory topics including Prudential Reporting, Structural Reform; new accounting and compliance innovation; and / or business audit skills.Ideally, experience dealing with multinational clients and the ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.Experience and knowledge of tax compliance, financial reporting and ERP systems such as SAP.Ability to win in the market, strong negotiation skills and the ability to work under challenging situations.Demonstrated understanding and capability of implementing accounting concepts.What We Look For
