Coordinator, Safety & Security

Job Role / Responsibilities :

Reporting to the Manager Security Operations, you will be responsible to ensure safe and secure environments at campus during the assigned shift through effective visitor control, emergency response, incident investigation, traffic control, campus patrolling, conflict resolution and as per the guidelines and expectation provided / communicated by the Manager Security. Specifically, you will be responsible for :

• Liaise with Manager for the daily security program and carryout routine checks as directed.
• Exercise effective Control / Supervision over his shift and correct deployment of force by taking regular rounds and spot checks.
• Ensures that response to security requirements outside of the daily program and emergencies / incidents is in accordance with the laid down policies, procedures and protocols.
• Responsible for the implementation of SOPS / Policies & Procedures on daily basis through understanding of the same, providing training to security staff and spot checks.
• Supervise the smooth functioning of Security Control and maintenance of prescribed documents by physical inspection / examination during his shift.
• Advice Administrator On Call on Safety & Security issues on as required basis.
• Investigate incidents, prepares preliminary investigation report with recommendations by inspecting scene of incident and examination of witnesses.
• Assist the Department Training Coordinator in imparting Training to security groups under command.
• Supervise Quality initiatives / CQI projects of security groups under his command.
• Check Log Books, Orders and deployment, weapon and ammunition physical state at Security Control and ER.
• Ensure visitor control and ushering out procedures during B & C shifts.
• Effective monitoring of SGs through supervisors, spot checks and through CCTV.
• Ensure traffic management throughout the campus during assigned shift.
• Strategies / Laying out traps for undesired persons involved in undesired activities
• Implement loitering policy after ushering out at night through patrolling / spot checks.
• Solve Security problem of AKU and satellite location such as phlebotomy, IED, CMS and FAS.
• Act as Manager Security Operations in his absence as and when appointed by Director S&S.
• Take over the responsibilities of the disaster control officer in any emergency at AKU during the shift till the time the disaster control team takes over.
• Ensure emergency recall of staff under supervision for emergency duty.
• Conduct training session of staff under supervision as well as other departments on security aspects.
• Cover the departmental events being conducted in campus.
• Any other task assigned by the Manager / Director Safety & Security

Eligibility Criteria / Requirements :

Graduate from HEC recognized University.

Retired Armed Forces Officer equivalent to Captain / Major rank with minimum of 7 – 10 years’ experience.

At least 3 years of experience of serving in a corporate security setup.

Termination on disciplinary grounds / Moral turpitude not acceptable.

Withdrawal from Military Academy on any ground not acceptable.

Excellent communication skills in English & Urdu (knowledge of local languages will be preferred).

Good computer and Microsoft office skills.

Excellent Investigation and report writing skills.
