Overview

An Import Officer has a wide range of duties that deal with each step of the shipping process.
Import Officer track shipments and communicate with clients about the package's progress.
Import Officer coordinate shipping with customs agents for clearance on overseas deliveries.

Job Specification

import Officer also deal with quotes from prospective shippers and handle claims with insurance companies if any shipment problems happen to occur.

An import officer main task is to provide efficient delivery logistics through data management.

Fill out import-export documentation, compile carrier and route assignments, compute international fees for each shipment and keep track of shipment payments and quotas.

Much of this work is done using automated systems that can identify shipments, collect data and register packages with government agencies.

An export manager oversees the export process for his employer or client.

This individual performs a variety of tasks that ensure that goods can be transported for sale internationally in a manner that complies with all domestic and foreign customs laws.

Employers require that candidates for these jobs possess at least a four-year degree.

Since this is a management-level position, candidates must also typically have at least four years of related professional experience,
