Overview

Senior Backend Engineer - Fintech (Remote, Anywhere in Pakistan, USD Salary) role at HR POD Careers. This position asks for a backend engineer with fintech experience and production-grade Node.js / TypeScript skills.

Responsibilities

Build backend services using the TypeScript / Node.js stack
Implement financial business logic and data processing workflows
Write tests first following Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices
Work with AWS Lambda and PostgreSQL / RDS databases
Design and implement REST APIs
Collaborate via GitHub with development workflows
Debug and optimize existing systems

Requirements

Minimum 6+ years of production backend development experience

Experience in financial applications (fintech, payments, banking, trading, or investment platforms)

Strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js, with the ability to be immediately productive

Test-Driven Development (TDD) practitioner, writing tests first and maintaining high coverage

Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns

Proficiency in PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migration handling

Proven experience in REST API design, building well-structured and versioned APIs

Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision

Quick learner with the ability to integrate quickly, understand existing codebases, and contribute immediately

Background in financial systems development

Experience with GitHub workflows
