Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Instructor in Satellite Emergency Department at Clifton Medical Services. CMS is part of The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Outreach Program designed to conveniently provide quality healthcare services to patients closer to where they live and work, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our team of highly qualified, trained, and experienced doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrative staff is equipped to provide compassionate care, diagnosis, and treatment for all our patients.

CMS offers for adult and paediatric patients, supervised by The Department of Emergency Medicine at Aga Khan University. Satellite Emergency Department provides medical care for illnesses or injuries that require prompt attention and are typically not of such seriousness as to require the services of an emergency room, but often need to be seen urgently. Patients with critical conditions are stabilized and transferred to AKUH, 24 / 7 Emergency and Acute Care at the Main Campus, Stadium Road, Karachi.

Responsibilities

Specifically, you will be responsible to :

take a lead medical role and work at the Satellite Emergency Department as an Emergency Medicine Instructor

perform patient’s initial evaluation, investigation, and management to maintain consistently high clinical quality and service standards

provide urgent care to all patients coming to the Satellite Emergency Department

ensure safe transfer and referral of patients

perform medical procedures

take part in ongoing sessions for Health care professionals of the Satellite Emergency Department and or CMS, and have clinical, research, and specified administrative responsibilities including floor coverage.

timely completion of required documentation

Requirement

You must have :

  • an MBBS degree, valid PNC license and BLS certificate
  • completed structured postgraduate training from a reputable institution
  • possess FCPS Part I / FRCEM primary or equivalent and be eligible for FCPS-II / FRCEM OSCE or equivalent
  • ability to cope-up with work pressure while maintaining quality of care
  • effectively work independently as well with multidisciplinary teams
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills.
