Semi Senior Accountant / VAT Accountant

We are currently looking for a Semi Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting, VAT, and tax-related tasks and should have prior experience in all these areas.

To apply for these roles, candidates must have solid, proven work experience. They should have at least 2 years of experience working at a semi-senior level in a UK-based accountancy firm. The candidate must have strong experience in independently finalizing VAT returns in line with UK VAT regulations. They should also be able to assist in reviewing and finalizing VAT returns prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy before submission for a partner review. This is essential.

Primary Duties :

• Maintain accurate financial records (bookkeeping) utilizing a variety of software platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks, VT,Clear Books, Free agent, Capium Accounting Suite and Excel.
• Candidate must have a sound experienceto finalize VAT returns adhering to UK VAT regulations, without supervision. Also need to help finalize VAT returns and oversee working of junior staff members to finalization level, for partners review. This is necessary!
• Prepare financial statements including necessary disclosures as per FRS-105 and FRS-102 standards.
• Calculate Corporation Tax in compliance with UK tax legislation.
• File financial statements and corporation tax returns with both Company’s House and HMRC.
• Complete individual personal income tax returns in accordance with UK tax legislation would be a desirable extra.
• Maintain monthly payroll records utilizing Sage 50 payroll software, would be advantageous.
• Draft correspondence letters and other essential documents.
• Must be a collaborator, a team player and should have experienceto manage team.
