About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer with at least 5+ years of experience in product design to lead and elevate our product design initiatives. This role involves designing, managing, and optimizing user experiences and design systems to deliver consistent, user-centered, and innovative outcomes.

This role involves designing, managing, and optimizing user experiences and design systems to deliver consistent, user-centered, and innovative outcomes.

Responsibilities

Design Leadership

  • Drive the end-to-end design strategy for APIMatic's developer-focused products
  • Create a holistic design vision that aligns with the company's product and technical goals
  • Establish and evangelize design principles that resonate with technical user personas

    • Design System Mastery

  • Architect a comprehensive, scalable design system that serves both internal teams and external developer users
  • Develop modular, flexible design components that can adapt across different platforms and use cases
  • Implement design tokens and systematic approach to color, typography, spacing, and interaction patterns

    • User Experience Research & Strategy

  • Conduct in-depth user research specifically targeting developer experience (DevX)
  • Create detailed user personas and journey maps for developer tools
  • Develop data-driven design strategies that solve real developer pain points

    • Collaboration & Ecosystem Design

  • Work closely with product management, engineering, and developer relations teams
  • Bridge the gap between design aesthetics and technical functionality
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align design and technical strategies

    • Mentorship & Design Culture

  • Build a design practice that emphasizes continuous learning and design thinking
  • Mentor junior designers with a focus on technical design skills
  • Develop design review processes that promote constructive feedback and innovation

    • Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of product design experience with a strong focus on developer tools or technical products
  • Computer Science or related technical degree preferred

    • Advanced Proficiency

    Figma (advanced component libraries, design systems)

  • Adobe XD
  • Prototyping tools
  • Strong front-end development knowledge (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Portfolio demonstrating complex design system work and developer tool interfaces
  • Experience with design accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
  • Strong understanding of modern web technologies and developer workflows
