We are currently seeking a driven Business Development Lead to manage a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) focused on outbound LinkedIn and email outreach. This role is critical in fueling our sales pipeline and aligning outreach strategies with revenue objectives.
Position Overview As a Business Development Lead at KnowledgeCity, your primary responsibility is to build and manage a high‑performing team of BDRs that generate qualified leads through structured outbound prospecting. You’ll be responsible for overseeing all messaging and outreach execution, coaching your team on outreach strategy and performance, and ensuring targets are met for lead quality, meeting bookings, and opportunity creation. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of outbound strategies, has experience leading BDR teams in a B2B SaaS environment, and is skilled at driving results through coaching, structure, and hands‑on support.
Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and grow a team of BDRs focused on outbound prospecting via LinkedIn, email, and other digital platforms.
Develop and oversee daily outreach cadences and campaigns in collaboration with Sales leadership.
Ensure consistent messaging across all outbound efforts, optimizing scripts and templates for engagement and conversion.
Monitor outreach performance metrics such as email response rates, connection rates, booked meetings, and pipeline contribution.
Conduct regular 1 : 1s to review activity, evaluate progress, provide feedback, and support development.
Track individual and team KPIs to ensure performance targets are being met or exceeded.
Provide hands‑on support by joining prospecting efforts where needed and reviewing conversations for quality.
Collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure seamless handoff of qualified leads and strong lead‑to‑opportunity conversion.
Maintain pipeline visibility and reporting accuracy in the CRM.
Identify tools, automation, and best practices that enhance outreach effectiveness and scale.
Train new hires and support the ongoing enablement of team members on tools, processes, and strategy.
Required Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in B2B lead generation or outbound sales, with at least 1 year in a team lead or management role.
Proficiency in LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, and outbound email tools (e.g., Instantly, Mailshake, Apollo).
Strong understanding of outbound prospecting, cold emailing, and LinkedIn messaging strategies.
Proven ability to coach team members and optimize outreach performance.
Experience building outreach sequences and campaigns aligned to target personas and industries.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and accountability for results.
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
