This role will be responsible for overseeing the accurate computation and distribution of profit and loss to depositors, managing the tagging and movement of financing / investment assets, and ensuring the proper allocation of income and expenses in compliance with Islamic banking principles. The role requires close collaboration with the Shariah Compliance Department to ensure all calculations are accurate and align with Shariah standards. The position holder will also play a key role in the creation and management of special pools and will be expected to manage a team while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
What Executive Manager Accounts - Islamic Banking - MMBL does?Financial Oversight and Compliance :
Ensure accurate balancing of books of accounts, maintaining financial integrity and compliance with regulatory and Shariah requirements.Oversee the computation and timely distribution of profit and loss to depositors, ensuring that all transactions are Shariah-compliant and accurately reflect account balances.Asset Management and Tracking :Supervise the tagging, tracking, and movement of financing and investment assets, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with the bank’s financial goals.Ensure that assets are tracked in accordance with Islamic banking principles and that their movement is consistent with the bank's strategic objectives.Special Pools and Allocation :Lead the creation and oversight of special pools for investments, ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately and in compliance with both internal policies and Shariah guidelines.Monitor the performance of these pools, making recommendations for optimization when necessary.Income & Expense Allocation :Manage the periodic allocation of income and expenses, ensuring all calculations and distributions are in line with internal policies, Shariah standards, and regulatory guidelines.Work closely with the finance team to ensure that income and expense entries are accurately allocated and reconciled.Shariah Compliance :Collaborate with the Shariah Compliance Department to approve all calculations related to profit distribution, ensuring that all transactions adhere to Shariah principles.Conduct audits of the calculations and distributions, verifying their accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.Team Management :Supervise and manage a team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the efficient execution of tasks within set deadlines.Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture, ensuring staff are aligned with the bank's goals and Islamic banking principles.Process Optimization :Identify areas for process improvements and optimize workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline operations within the Islamic Banking division.Ad Hoc Responsibilities :Undertake any additional official assignments as directed by management, ensuring they are completed within stipulated timelines and in line with the bank's objectives.What are we looking for and what does it require to be Executive Manager Accounts - Islamic Banking - MMBL?1. Education : CA / CA finalist / ACCA / Masters with degree / certification in Islamic banking.
2. Experience : Minimum 3 years’ experience in Islamic Banking pool Management3. Knowledge of AAOIFI standards, IFRS, and regulatory requirements for Islamic financial institutions will be preferred.Soft Skills :Skills of M.S.
