Job description

Network Engineer, Trilogy (Remote) - $100,000 / year USD

Base pay range : $50.00 / hr - $50.00 / hr

You're the type of DevOps engineer who doesn't simply maintain uptime; you architect systems that prevent outages before they occur. If you find satisfaction in dissecting chaotic legacy infrastructure, engineering streamlined solutions, and automating every manual process you find, this role is built for you. We need a DevOps and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, where 99.9% availability is the baseline expectation. Your work will span a diverse portfolio of acquired products, each presenting unique challenges, as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment while creating monitoring and automation that proactively minimizes incidents.

Most organizations ask you to support a single platform. We're asking you to unify and enhance multiple platforms without causing disruption. While conventional wisdom suggests isolating databases, our approach is different—we strategically consolidate them to drive cost efficiency and operational simplicity across our entire portfolio. This position isn't designed for someone content with routine maintenance; it's tailored for engineers who encounter fragmented, inconsistent systems and instinctively envision how to rebuild them better.

Your scope includes infrastructure migrations, AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This means troubleshooting and resolving failures, orchestrating smooth cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI / ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of your workload. You'll possess genuine decision‑making authority on infrastructure matters—with no delays waiting for sign‑off from stakeholders disconnected from technical realities.

If you're a self‑directed problem‑solver who enjoys unraveling complicated systems and optimizing them to perfection, this role will energize you. If you require constant guidance, struggle with managing diverse technology stacks, or favor greenfield projects over transforming disorder into structure, this won't be the right fit. If you're prepared to claim ownership of a high‑impact infrastructure position with opportunities to build, refine, and automate at enterprise scale, submit your application today!

What You Will Be Doing

  • Orchestrating and implementing complex infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy environments to AWS cloud platforms and lift‑and‑shift migration projects
  • Creating and deploying comprehensive monitoring strategies and developing automation for monitoring systems, software releases, and operational processes
  • Executing system monitoring, backup operations, incident management, database migrations, database tuning, and cost reduction initiatives

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Spending your days in Jira tickets and interminable status calls - we prioritize engineers who deliver solutions, not just document issues
  • Keeping obsolete systems alive indefinitely - you'll be authorized to implement substantial upgrades
  • Waiting through layers of bureaucratic approvals - you'll possess the autonomy to deploy immediate remediation during incidents
  • Operating within restrictive technical boundaries - this position demands both comprehensive knowledge and specialized expertise
  • Justifying budget requests for essential infrastructure work - we recognize that infrastructure investment is fundamental
  • Network Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Drive reliability and standardization of cloud infrastructure across our growing product portfolio by implementing robust monitoring, automation, and AWS best practices.
  • Basic Requirements

  • Deep AWS infrastructure expertise (this is our primary platform - other cloud experience alone won't cut it)
  • Strong programming skills in Python or JavaScript for building automation and tooling
  • Experience managing and migrating production databases with multiple engines (including MySql, Postgres, Oracle, MS‑SQL)
  • Advanced Docker / Kubernetes skills
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation)
  • Linux systems administration expertise
