Senior PHP and Wordpress Engineer

Overview

Senior PHP and Wordpress Engineer role at Gigster. Our client is an international media company evolving a large-scale, mission-driven publishing platform used by millions. This is a hands-on WordPress role (WordPress as a framework and codebase), not a plugin / theme admin job. You’ll build custom functionality, extend core behavior, and ship clean, well-tested PHP that scales.

We are seeking a self-mn, collaborative engineer comfortable working with distributed teams, contributing to architecture discussions, and delivering features to production.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain complex web applications using WordPress.
• Work on a large-scale system to improve speed, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and vendor teams to identify and resolve issues quickly.
• Collaborate in system architecture and design discussions.
• Review and improve existing source code to meet project coding standards and maintain quality.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, priority-based environment.
• Contribute to engineering discipline through leadership and mentorship.
