Coder / Reimbursement Specialist

Responsible for coding and abstracting medical records to facilitate timely billing and maintain accurate acuity statistics following Hospital and industry standard coding guidelines.

Enters codes for diagnoses, procedures, complications and infections, as well as facility fees where applicable in accord and in compliance with industry coding guidelines.

Utilizes Hospital Information System and Encoder software efficiently and maintains current with coding protocols and changes. Job Specification

Medical terminology Anatomy and Physiology Pathology and Disease Process Encoder, Grouper, ICD 9, and CPT code sets (ICD 10 a Plus) Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail High degree of analytical ability Strong interpersonal skills Ability to work independently Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
