Job description

Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities :

Specific responsibilities will be to :

Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle
Lead the development team to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality solutions
Continuously learn and apply new tools and technologies to meet project requirements
Collaborate with team members to design new features and enhance user experience
Understand existing processes and drive automation and digitization initiatives
Work collaboratively within an agile environment using modern and advanced technologies
Prepare clear documentation and ensure error‑free deployment of applications
Train and support analysts and supervisors in developing web applications and dashboards
Collect, manipulate, preprocess, and analyze complex, high‑volume datasets using appropriate visualization tools
Develop prototypes including IMAGE PROCESSING, GIS, and MACHINE LEARNING models
Support data extraction, wrangling, analysis, and interpretation of large, diverse datasets
Develop dashboards that deliver accurate and actionable insights
Apply MACHINE LEARNING and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE to healthcare data to understand patient cohorts and improve outcomes
Travel nationally and internationally as required by project needs.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Minimum five years of professional experience in software development

Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities

Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting insights to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Strong scripting and programming capabilities

Proficiency in .NET / C# (VISUAL STUDIO, ASP.NET CORE, ENTITY FRAMEWORK, REST APIs, SWAGGER, GIT, DOCKER)

Proficiency in FLUTTER / DART (ANDROID STUDIO / VS CODE, FLUTTER SDK, GETX / PROVIDER, HTTP / DIO, FIREBASE, DEVTOOLS)

Proficiency in FLASK / PYTHON (FLASK, SQLALCHEMY, FLASK‑RESTFUL, JWT / AUTH, CELERY, PYCHARM / VS CODE, DOCKER)

Proficiency in PHP (LARAVEL / CODEIGNITER, COMPOSER, REST APIs, MYSQL / POSTGRESQL, VS CODE / PHPSTORM, GIT)

Strong understanding of machine‑learning techniques, including clustering, classification, regression, optimization, recommendation, and natural language processing

Understanding of data and analytical frameworks within the healthcare sector

Strong skills in data collection, data management, data analysis, and interpretation

Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data‑Warehousing tools

Ability to articulate research questions, form hypotheses, and review relevant literature

Ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels

Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with minimal supervision.
