JOB DESCRIPTION
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
The Project Reporting Officer will work under the overall guidance of the IUCN Country Representative, and direct supervision of the Senior Manager, Forests & Biodiversity IUCN, ensuring the timely and successful reporting of the Forests and Biodiversity programs implementation related to forest and biodiversity surveys, species assessments, and completion of the development of the Red Data Book, special studies, workshop report in close coordination with Knowledge management and communication unit. Specific responsibilities include :
1. Prepare the project reports, briefs, presentations, press releases, workshop agendas, activities report, assessment reports, study reports etc in consultation with other staff members of IUCN Pakistan.
2. Provide support in documentation with regard to implementation progress activities as per the agreement between IUCN and Punjab Forest, Wildlife & Parks Departments, in alignment with the approved work plan.
3. Maintain close liaison with the project staff and donors to solicit their cooperation and support in implementation and reporting of the project.
4. Assist in maintaining, designing and reporting project budgets and tracking expenditures in compliance with IUCN’s financial policies and donor guidelines.
5. Conduct project and programme reviews of the workplans and prepare the progress reports in line with the project indicators and outcomes to ensure delivery of quality outputs.
6. Document and highlight the stakeholder engagement, consultations, and organizing workshops on forest & wildlife assessments, surveys, and species monitoring.
7. Guide the field staff on data collection formats and methodologies with regard to gender, forest & wildlife surveys, and species assessments, ensuring adherence to standardized methodologies for scientific outputs.
8. Ensure compliance with IUCN and donor policies, including ethical guidelines for reports and knowledge management.
9. Take lead on development and implementation of a communication plan for disseminating key findings and raising awareness of species conservation.
10. Contribute to program development of IUCN and help in expanding the IUCN Pakistan portfolio.
11. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
B. PROJECT / PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
1. Assist in designing and implementing new conservation projects aligned with global biodiversity goals.
2. Support the development of funding proposals for complementary initiatives, including species conservation, ecological research, and policy advocacy in line with IUCN standards.
3. Technically lead to design reporting formats for biodiversity assessments, conservation planning, and policy recommendations, supporting IUCN’s broader program.
4. Assist in the facilitation of cross-programme learning, integrating themes such as ecosystem-based conservation, climate resilience, and sustainable natural resource management.
C. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Contribute to IUCN’s One Programme Approach, ensuring integration across different conservation initiatives.
2. Assist in strengthening institutional relationships with government agencies, conservation organizations, and IUCN Members.
3. Represent IUCN in meetings, workshops, and technical forums related to forest & wildlife conservation.
4. Support knowledge-sharing by contributing to publications, reports, and policy briefs.
5. Ensure IUCN’s branding and conservation messaging are effectively communicated in all project-related activities.
6. Ensure effective communication of project updates within IUCN and externally with partners and donors in consultation with IUCN senior management. REQUIREMENTS
