D365 F&O Functional Consultant – Finance (Cost & Project) – 100% Remote
We are seeking a versatile and proactive D365 F&O Functional Consultant with strong expertise in Cost Accounting and Project Accounting modules. The ideal candidate is a problem‑solver who can learn quickly and leverage resources to design and deliver robust solutions. You will play a hybrid role, working directly with clients and as part of our internal team to implement, optimize, and support critical business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to all phases of D365 F&O implementations, focusing on Finance, Cost Accounting, and Project Accounting.
- Gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into effective functional designs and configurations.
- Configure and implement core Finance modules : General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, and Cost Accounting.
- Implement and support the Project Accounting module, covering contracts, funding, hour / expense tracking, billing rules (Time & Material, Fixed Price), and integration with General Ledger.
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot the Cost Accounting module, including Costing Versions, Item Cost calculation, Costing Sheets, and overhead allocation.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and create documentation to ensure user adoption and knowledge transfer.
- Proactively identify issues and perform root cause analysis, using all available tools and resources to drive solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams on integrations, data migrations, and necessary customizations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum 5‑6 years of experience as a D365 F&O Functional Consultant, with a primary focus on Finance.Hands‑on implementation and support experience with Cost Accounting and Project Accounting modules.Minimum 3 full‑cycle D365 F&O implementations.Solid understanding of interdependencies between Finance, Costing, Projects, and Supply Chain.Resourceful and self‑directed problem‑solving approach.Excellent communication and client‑facing skills, comfortable in a hybrid role.Seniority Level
