Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the import operations by coordinating shipments, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and has a strong understanding of international trade processes.
Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation and processing of import documentation (invoices, packing lists, bill of lading, etc.)
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
Track shipments and update internal systems with current status and estimated arrival times
Ensure all import activities comply with local and international regulations
Maintain accurate records of shipments and communication for auditing purposes
Liaise with the warehouse and logistics team to arrange for unloading and storage of incoming goods
Assist with resolving any delays or issues during the shipping and customs process.
Job Specification Required Skills
Knowledge of international trade, incoterms, and import procedures
Familiarity with shipping documents and customs clearance processes
Strong communication skills for coordination with external and internal parties
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and logistics software
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving shipment issues
Previous experience in import / export or logistics is a plus
Knowledge of local import regulations and HS codes is an advantage
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)
