Job Description
As a Senior Data Scientist on the Geospatial AI team, you will design, build, and optimize machine learning models that generate critical insights from massive geospatial datasets. You’ll collaborate closely with our AI researchers, platform engineers, and product teams to integrate high-impact ML solutions directly into xMap’s flagship intelligence platform, ensuring our clients can make fast, data-driven decisions in complex environments.
What You’ll Do
- End-to-End Model Development : Research, prototype, and productionize geospatial ML models (e.g., object detection, semantic segmentation, spatial-temporal forecasting) within xMap’s Generative AI pipelines.
- Data Pipeline Ownership : Work with diverse geospatial data—satellite imagery, mobility data, sensor feeds—to continually refine data ingestion, cleaning, and feature engineering processes.
- Platform Integration : Collaborate with software engineers to incorporate novel AI algorithms into the xMap platform, ensuring solutions scale and perform reliably for enterprise customers.
- Advanced Analytics : Drive insight generation through advanced geospatial analysis, anomaly detection, and scenario modeling to address real-world problems in real estate, infrastructure, or municipal planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with our Product and UX teams to translate client needs into high-value models and interactive features on the platform.
- Research & Innovation : Stay current on cutting-edge AI techniques (e.g., Generative AI, foundation models), and continuously evaluate new data sources, libraries, and frameworks to enhance xMap’s core offerings.
Requirements
5+ years of professional data science or machine learning experience, with a strong focus on geospatial analytics(2+ years).Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn); familiarity with geospatial libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, GDAL, PostGIS).Demonstrated success building and deploying geospatial ML solutions—object detection on satellite imagery, route optimization, population density forecasting, etc.Experience with Generative AI or large-scale AI deployments is a significant plus.Ability to translate complex analytical approaches into actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders.A passion for using data to solve challenges in urban planning, infrastructure, or sustainable development.
