Responsibilities :
Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is seeking a Early Childhood Development (ECD) Educator to join the ECD Parenting and Caregiver Readiness and Education Program (ECDPREP) OBGYN Department. The ECD Educator will play a critical role in supporting early childhood development initiatives by educating parents, educators caregivers, and healthcare teams on responsive caregiving, early stimulation, brain development and developmental milestones under the supervision of ECD lead or designated.
Key responsibilities are as under :
Clinical Education on ECD :
Collaborate regularly with Unit Representatives (URs) to ensure complete and accurate documentation, including patient slips and backend data.
Manage and maintain in-patient and outpatient ECD-related data to support program monitoring and evaluation.
Liaise with the nursing team to facilitate discharge summary education on ECD topics as required.
Co-facilitate ECD education sessions and tele parenting and monthly parenting education club, providing guidance and resources to families.
Assist in the collection and management of clinical data for ongoing ECD quality assurance and program improvements.
Prepare annual reports and summaries reflecting the clinical ECD stream’s progress and outcomes.
Research and Advocacy :
Lead advocacy efforts related to Global Parents Day and other key awareness initiatives.
Coordinate and support parenting engagement activities, workshops, and group sessions.
Support research and quality improvement projects as assigned.
Education and Training :
Collaborate on the development and updating of ECD educational materials and resources.
Co facilitate community or school based parenting and caregiving education sessions.
Requirements : You should have :
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, Early Childhood Development, Child Psychology, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years’ working experience as family or parent / teacher educator will be given preference.
In-depth understanding of child development principles, parental engagement strategies, and established ECD frameworks.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences, including parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary hospital teams and contribute to integrated care delivery.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and data management.
