Job Role / Responsibilities :
Reporting to the Regional Director, Safety & Security, as Manager Security, you will be responsible to manage overall security operations by implementing the security programs for AKUH Stadium Road campus. You shall be responsible to manage / implement security operations and programs aimed at ensuring secure environment at the Stadium Road Campus. You shall work with user departments to identify security risks, develop action plan to mitigate risks and prevent losses / incidents. You shall be responsible for the training of the security staff on the management plans, policies and procedures and on security related subjects. You shall supervise security awareness program at AKU and in-service training of all security personnel annually. You shall be responsible to ensure secure environment through an effective access control / visitor control and efficient traffic / parking management. Your role also includes maintaining an efficient guard force, Emergency Response Team, protection of high-risk patients, protection of staff, students, visitors and VIPs. You shall also be responsible for the administration and accountability of the security staff and security stores / equipment. You shall maintain close and cordial relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies to seek their support wherever required.
- Plan and implement the Security Operations and strategies at the Stadium Road Campus, as envisaged in the AKU Security Management Program.
- Manage the Security Operation Section to ensure proper implementation of policy Directives / Orders of the Department on daily basis by taking rounds, inspection of records, weekly meetings, and random checks.
- Assist Regional Director, Safety & Security in developing / updating of Security Management plan, policies, and procedure in accordance with JCIA and other accrediting standards / authorities.
- Develop and execute system, policies, and procedure for the protection of stores / equipment, protection of High-Risk patient and protection of Staff, Visitors / VIPs.
- Manage and maintain an efficient and effective guard force to provide a secure environment at the Stadium Road Campus by ensuring an effective access / visitor and traffic control.
- Analyse, identify and update the security threat against AKU by carrying out / supporting the relevant departmental team carrying out risk analysis in collaboration with user departments / stakeholders and take preventive measure to prevent losses.
- Responsible for provision of security coverage to all construction related activities / construction sites at AKU campus.
- To plan and arrange the general administration, ROTA system and leave program of the security staff.
- Plan and supervise the Electronic Security System (CCTV / Access Control System) efforts and other operational equipment, which include lock and key system at AKU campus by physical examination and routine inspection of facilities and record.
- Liaise with external agencies e.g. Army, Police, Intelligence and Civil Administration for Law & Order information and outside assistance.
- Liaise with AKU Faculty / Staff for special events / security matters on a regular basis through visits / meeting and contact.
- Carry out training need assessment of guard force, and plan / conduct the training in collaboration the Regional Director and Departmental Training Coordinator.
- Ensure that % guard force undergo In-Service and Service Excellence Trainings on an annual basis.
- Plan and develop quarterly security awareness calendar, and conduct Security Awareness sessions for the AKU community.
- Manage and maintain an efficient / competent Emergency Response Team (ERT) to respond to security emergencies through training and accountability. Ensuring a 24-hour response to all security related incidents throughout the campus.
- On behalf of Regional Director, Safety and Security, provide security related advice to AKU personnel whenever required / requested.
- Keep the Regional Director, Safety and Security informed / updated on all the operational and administrative matters of Security Operations section.
- Be prepared to take over the responsibilities of Manager Security Investigations on required basis.
- Perform any other official task assigned by Regional Director S&S.
Requirements :
Graduate / Master’s preferred; Trained in military academy with specialization in intelligence or related courses including investigation techniques.Minimum 15 years of military experience.4-5 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a large security organization / corporate sector (preferred).Thorough knowledge of the protection of life and property in terms of safety and security.Able to define security measures in relation to specific situation analysis.Excellent leadership and presentation skills.Excellent interpersonal skills; have acumen for investigations and interviews.A motivated team player; able to lead team by example.Ability to work effectively under pressure.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Proficiency in English language; knowledge of other regional / local languages will be considered an additional advantage.Proficiency in computer skillsComprehensive employment reference checks will be conducted.
