Job Roles / Responsibilities :

The regional manager, South, is a key leadership role responsible for the strategic support and operational management of laboratory outreach services in the South Karachi region. The person will be responsible for improving operations, managing diversified groups of people (cross-functional teams), increasing profitability, and enhancing growth through new ideas, innovation and execution of effective sales, marketing, and business strategies. The position focuses on business growth through outside referrals and upholding quality standards (CAP & JCIA) and expanding corporate business partnerships.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Sales & Business Development : Lead and monitor sales coordinators to enhance outside referrals through systematic doctor engagement. Identify and cultivate corporate partnerships to increase business and diagnostic volumes. Represent the lab in physician & corporate meetings, CMEs, and health awareness programs to ensure visibility and credibility. Analyze regional sales data to identify trends and drive marketing campaigns accordingly. Responsible for achieving volume, revenue, and surplus targets to contribute to the achievement of the departmental strategic goal.
  • Operational & Administrative Oversight : Lead operation of laboratory specimen collection units & outreach labs to provide the best quality health care services and be a market leader to align with the institution's vision / mission. Supervise admin coordinators to ensure timely resolution of administrative issues and adherence to protocols. Ensure effective resource allocation, including staff deployment and supplies management.
  • People Management & Leadership : Lead a multidisciplinary regional team including team leaders, sales & admin coordinators, phlebotomists, and receptionists. Monitor performance, provide coaching, and create a culture of accountability and teamwork. Develop and execute training and development plans for continuous upskilling of staff. Identify staffing gaps and coordinate with HR to ensure optimal workforce levels.
  • Quality, Compliance & Standards : Ensure effective and efficient implementation of the Clinical Laboratories Quality Assurance Program and ensure periodic and effective implementation of quality management systems and techniques to comply with CAP & JCIA recommended measures, applicable laws and regulations for compliance, accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of the reported test results
  • Asset & Risk Management : Ensure effective maintenance of lab equipment and minimize downtime by coordinating with engineering / technical support. Monitor quality and safety protocols and identify business, compliance and operational risks, implement their mitigation and contingency strategies to ensure the safety of patient and staff.

Requirements :

The successful candidate should have :

  • A master’s degree from a reputable university, preferably in business administration or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in administrative and operational affairs of running a laboratory, preferably in a health care setting.
  • Command over technical and administrative aspects of clinical laboratory operations.
  • Ability to effectively prepare budgets, manage resources, and monitor financial performance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to develop business marketing skills.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders across functions for the delivery of exemplary patient care services.
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand and solve complex problems and the ability to present with clarity to a wider audience.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions in a timely manner; positive attitude and ready to accept change.
  • Ability to cope with work pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Ability to handle large teams’ cross-functional teams, including sales forces.
  • Willing to travel as per the business requirements.
