Introduction

The Aga Khan University Hospital is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In addition to the tertiary care hospital in Karachi, AKUH has a network of 4 secondary care hospitals, 30+ Medical Centres, and over + Clinical Laboratories, 30+ Pharmacies in over + cities across Pakistan. It also offers Home Healthcare Services and home deliveries of medicines. Clifton Medical Services (CMS) is part of The Aga Khan University Hospital’s Outreach Programme designed to conveniently provide quality healthcare services to patients closer to where they live and work, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director, Outreach Medical Services, you will be responsible as a lead for the overall management of Clifton Medical Services. This includes, but is not limited to :
  • Develop and implement strategic and annual plans, particularly in relation to business and patient care services in the department
  • Develop smart, short-term and medium-term plans, targets, objectives and strategies aligned with the Hospital’s vision.
  • Develop and monitor the Centres’ budgets, goals, strategies, volumes, and revenues
  • Develop and maintain dashboards from the various data sources and track various Key Performance Indicators relevant to CMS output and efficiency
  • Ensure and oversight development of formal proposals, feasibilities, policies, pathways, documentation tools, and marketing material, as appropriate
  • Plan and assist leadership in calculating future needs and growth, and ensure availability of required resources
  • design and execute service expansion plans with sustainable outcomes in coordination with the help of multidisciplinary support services
  • facilitate and liaise with hospital teams for future services and infrastructure development at institution level
  • analyze and recommend solutions to resolve complex issues where policies and procedures may not be clearly defined
  • maintain quality assurance and complaint / incident reports data, follow-up on the same and take corrective and preventive measures for improvement
  • review Patient Satisfaction Index and take measures to continuously improve the indices
  • ensure adequate staffing coverage and implement developmental plans to promote continuous learning and development of staff
  • facilitate in quality initiatives of CMS and implement quality standards as per JCIA requirements as well as Provincial health care commission licensure body, as applicable

Requirements

You should have :

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management or equivalent from a reputed university while having MBBS degree will be an added advantage
  • at least eight years of relevant experience, including at least three years of working at senior management level
  • expertise in operational management, analysis of budget variance reports and statistical data
  • ability to develop and maintain data dashboards and sound knowledge of resource management including financial management
  • excellent negotiation skills with knowledge of marketing
  • flair to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders for the delivery of exemplary patient care services
  • excellent interpersonal skills and aptitude to act as an entrepreneur
  • ability to work under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
  • willingness to travel nationally as well as internationally on need-basis.
