Assistant Accountant

SITE, Super Highway, Phase II, Karachi Position Overview : We are looking for a dedicated and detailed-oriented Assistant Accountant to become part of our team. In this position, you will be key in assisting with our financial records, processing transactions, inventory management, budgeting and reporting, and ensuring the accuracy of our financial records. You will collaborate closely with the Accounts Manager and other colleagues to uphold financial processes and support the organization's overall financial well-being. Key Responsibilities : Managing company accounts and company vendors. Keep financial records up to date, including ledgers, invoices, payment vouchers and receipts. Help prepare financial statements and reports accurately and on time. Match bank statements and make sure all financial transactions are recorded correctly. Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes. Track and review production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead. Implement cost-saving measures and suggest ways to reduce expenses. Oversee inventory by tracking stock levels, organizing orders, and ensuring accurate stock management. Help with budgeting and forecasting tasks. Manage supplier ledgers, e-file sales tax returns with the FBR, handle advance tax payments, and coordinate with tax advisors for resolution. Assist and report to the Accounts Manager, and coordinate with other departments for reporting purposes. Required Skills and Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with strong accounting skills. At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within pharmaceuticals or manufacturing industry. Skilled in accounting software (For e.g. Peachtree, QuickBooks) and proficient with MS Office (specially MS Excel and google sheet). Capable of doing ERP system for accounting data feeding preferred. Solid grasp of accounting principles and financial regulations. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
