Deputy Chief Engineer (NDT & Land)

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited . Engineering graduate from an HEC recognized university with at least 6 years of experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. PEC registration is mandatory. The purpose of this position is to oversee the application of NDT techniques on SSGC’s pipeline. Additionally, this role involves managing land acquisition requirements for projects related to transmission pipelines and compression stations. The incumbent ensures timely land arrangements for projects and coordinates with external stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities
Organize non-destructive testing (NDT) services through third-party providers to assess pipeline condition impartially and independently. Ensure NDT is applied according to international standards, with well-designed procedures, trained and certified inspectors. Review reports and assessment data from service providers. Apply NDT techniques to monitor pipeline integrity, detect defects, and prevent damage or non-compliance. Review welding tenders, including bills of quantities and technical details, and provide technical inputs in tender documents. Check method statements and SOPs for project monitoring and control, seeking approval from HSE & QA departments. Monitor third-party inspection and construction activities, supervising NDT activities. Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for NDT processes, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Conduct assessments of critical infrastructure using NDT techniques to evaluate structural integrity and reliability. Monitor pipeline project activities such as excavation, pigging, commissioning, and handover to the Transmission department. Prepare pre-qualification tenders for inspection, NDT testing, welding, radiography, etc. Develop and execute land acquisition strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulations. Oversee land utilization planning for infrastructure projects, ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation in land transactions. Collaborate with departments to allocate resources effectively for land activities and manage budgets for cost-efficiency. Coordinate with design and engineering teams for seamless land requirement integration into project plans. Engage with communities regarding land acquisition, addressing concerns and fostering positive relationships. Work with environmental experts to ensure land activities support sustainability goals. Lead pipeline route planning through engineering surveys and tools like satellite maps and GPS. Coordinate with external stakeholders for feedback on pipeline routes. Identify and assess risks within their management scope. Undertake additional tasks as assigned by superiors. Seniority Level
